List of filter lists not appearing

Prerequisites

• I performed a cursory search of the issue tracker to avoid opening a duplicate issue.
• The issue is not present after disabling uBO in the browser.
• I checked the documentation to understand that the issue I am reporting is not normal behavior.

I tried to reproduce the issue when...

• uBO is the only extension.
• uBO uses default lists and settings.
• using a new, unmodified browser profile.

Description

There is nothing appearing in my filter list right now, I don't know what happened to my filter list, but it seems that the extension is still working somehow.

A specific URL where the issue occurs.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open uBlock settings
2. Go to Filter list menu

Expected behavior

The list of filter lists should have been shown at the end of the menu.

You likely have corrupted storage. But first, disable all your other extensions then restart the browser. Report the result.

I experienced a very similar issue recently, and based on what fixed it, it
seems highly likely that it was a corrupted storage problem, just as @gorhill
suggested.

In my case, the symptoms were:

1. My filters: Filters I added wouldn't save and disappeared upon refreshing
   the page.
2. My rules: Dynamic rules also failed to save and disappeared on refresh.
3. Filter lists: The custom filters I imported were not displaying completely.
   However, the rules that were hidden actually still existed and worked in the
   background.

I managed to fix it by manually clearing the extension's IndexedDB storage. I'm
not certain if this will completely solve your specific case, but since it
aligns with the corrupted storage diagnosis, it might be worth a try!

Here are the steps I used:

1. Backup your configuration: First, create a backup of your entire uBO config
   just to be safe.
2. Open the uBO dashboard/settings page.
3. Press F12 to open your browser's Developer Tools on that specific tab.
4. Clear the storage:
   • For Chrome/Edge/Brave: Go to the Application tab -> Storage -> click
     Clear site data (make sure IndexedDB is checked).
   • For Firefox: Go to the Storage tab -> IndexedDB -> expand it, find, and
     delete uBlock0CacheStorage.
5. Refresh the uBO settings page (and restore your backup if necessary).
