Will not successfully use RESIZE BAR

ReBAR + Above 4G Decoding enabled in BIOS
BAR resize fails ENOSPC — platform cannot allocate 16GB contiguous window

Symptoms:

• clinfo: 0 platforms
• zeInit: 0x78000001 (ZE_RESULT_ERROR_UNINITIALIZED)
• vainfo: Bus error (iHD_drv_video.so)

Confirmed via strace:

• /dev/dri/renderD128 opens successfully
• All DRM_IOCTL_XE_DEVICE_QUERY calls return 0
• "WARNING: Resizable BAR not detected" printed, then failure returned
• No ioctls fail — this is a deliberate policy block, not a comms failure

NEO_LOCAL_MEMORY_ALLOCATION_MODE=0/1/2 has no effect.

DG2/Alchemist degrades gracefully on Small BAR.
Battlemage should do the same rather than hard-refusing to initialize.

Steps to Reproduce

Uninstall and reinstall recommended drivers. Still no REBAR support even though it is enabled in BIOS ABOVE 4G is also enabled in BIOS.

I reloaded from Xubuntu 24.04.1 and it was working normally, Loaded Xubuntu 26.04 and RESIZE BAR no longer works. I am aware this is early release of 26.04 and the drivers are not up to par yet, I just figured I would log this ahead of the curve.

I resolved my issue accidentally.....

I disabled IOMMU and it resolved the issue go figure!

Thing is it was enabled on 24.04.1 with no issue.

Verified. I've been playing with it all day, games and card/linux/system/BIOS settings and I can with 1000% accuracy replicate it only when IOMMU is enabled for both Threadripper chiplets.
I have no VM's installed, and no databases running so in my head i was thinking disable it.

Enabled allows the IOMMU to be used across both chips in the CPU, disabled only allows one cpu chiplet to access IOMMU.

So I'm so confused its enabled both ways? Just one spreads the load between chiplets?

FYI I stated "for both chiplets" here because that's what i believed at the time was that it totally enabled/disabled them both at the same time.

I believe i have figured this out:

IOMMU ON= both cores get the IOMMU
IOMMU OFF= main core 0 still has IOMMU. Useful for isolating VM's/containers to one core.

The original fix for the Arc B580's OpenCL/Level Zero failures was disabling IOMMU enirely (i thought) in BIOS, which resolved ZE_RESULT_ERROR_UNINITIALIZED errors.
Given IOMMU on X399 — if the B580 sits on the die that gets an IOMMU domain assigned when IOMMU is enabled, then with IOMMU on, the GPU's PCIe device would be placed into an IOMMU group/domain. Level Zero/compute-runtime driver may then fail to properly map memory or initialize compute contexts if it doesn't handle being inside an IOMMU domain correctly — some discrete GPU drivers have known issues with IOMMU-enabled DMA remapping for compute (not display) workloads, especially newer/less mature drivers like Intel's xe + Level Zero stack for Arc.
So the chain would be: IOMMU on → GPU's die gets IOMMU domain → Level Zero's buffer/memory allocation calls fail because they're not IOMMU-aware → ZE_RESULT_ERROR_UNINITIALIZED. Disabling IOMMU removes that domain for the GPU's die, letting Level Zero access GPU memory with direct (unmapped) addressing, which it apparently expects.
It's a reasonable explanation given the pieces, but I can't find direct evidence that Intel's compute-runtime has this specific IOMMU-domain incompatibility documented. If i wanted to verify, I could try intel_compute_samples or clinfo with IOMMU on and check dmesg for IOMMU fault messages (DMAR: DRHD errors) at the time of the OpenCL failure.

However it's working atm so imma let the sleeping Intel lay!!

EDIT:
When I had the ARC installed in 24.04.1 before wiping and going to 26.04, i did not have this issue with IOMMU on so now I'm baffled again, /shrug.
